Bajaj Confirms Sub-350cc Triumph Bikes Launch by April 2026

Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj confirms new sub-350cc Triumph Motorcycles range will launch by April 2026. Check expected engine changes, GST impact, and key details.

Sub-350cc Triumph Bikes Launch Timeline Revealed

Following the revision in GST rates, Bajaj had already confirmed development of a new 350cc Triumph motorcycle in November. Now, the launch timeline has been officially revealed.

We finally have clarity on the upcoming sub-350cc Triumph motorcycles, whose development was confirmed by Bajaj Auto late last year. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, MD Rajiv Bajaj said the new motorcycle range will be ready for market launch by April 2026.

“I am happy to announce that the 350cc Triumph is ready to hit the market by April,” Bajaj said.

Why Bajaj and Triumph Are Moving Below 350cc

Last year, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, had indicated that introducing Triumph models below 350cc was part of a portfolio restructuring strategy following the new GST rates announced in September 2025.

The move is expected to make the bikes more competitively priced in the Indian market.

Expected Engine Changes

The biggest update in the upcoming Triumph 350cc range will likely be the engine.

  • Capacity expected to drop from 398cc to under 350cc

  • Likely evolution of the current 398cc unit

  • Power and torque may be slightly lower than the present 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm figures

  • Most premium features from the current 400cc lineup are expected to continue

This strategy could help the brand maintain performance while benefiting from favourable tax positioning.

Will the Triumph 400 Range Continue?

Some key questions still remain unanswered. It is not yet clear whether the new 350cc series will replace the existing Triumph 400 family in India or whether both lineups will be sold together.

One possibility is that Bajaj may continue producing the 400cc models primarily for export markets while focusing the new 350cc range on India. If that happens, parallel sales of both families could be considered.

India remains the global manufacturing hub for Triumph’s entry-level motorcycles, with production currently taking place at Bajaj’s Chakan plant.
