Kia is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup in India with the upcoming Kia Syros EV. Currently, Kia India offers models like the Kia EV6 and Kia EV9 in the premium EV segment, and now aims to enter the affordable EV space.
The Syros EV is expected to be a feature-loaded sub-4 meter electric SUV with a claimed range of up to 400 km on a single charge. It will compete with models from Tata, Mahindra, and MG in the Indian market.
Expected Launch and Price
According to reports, the Kia Syros EV could be launched in India between June and July 2026. The starting ex-showroom price is expected to be under ₹15 lakh, making it one of the most affordable EVs from Kia.
Design and Exterior
In terms of design, the Syros EV is expected to closely resemble its ICE counterpart, with some EV-specific updates.
Key design highlights may include:
- Signature boxy silhouette and upright stance
- Vertical LED headlamps and L-shaped DRLs
- LED taillamps
- Front bumper with integrated radar sensors
- 17-inch alloy wheels with green brake calipers
It is also speculated that the Syros EV could be based on the Hyundai Inster EV platform sold globally.
