Tata Motors & Mahindra Ready New 7-Seater SUVs: Scorpio-N Facelift, Avinya X & Safari EV

Mahindra and Tata Motors to launch new 7-seater SUVs including Scorpio-N facelift, Scorpio Classic, Avinya X EV, and Safari EV with advanced features.

If you’re planning to buy a seven-seater SUV, it may be worth waiting a bit longer. Mahindra and Tata Motors are gearing up to introduce several new models, including facelifts and next-generation electric SUVs that promise strong road presence, upgraded features, and modern technology.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift

The updated Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to debut around August 2026. The facelift will likely bring cosmetic enhancements such as a revised grille, sharper LED headlights with DRLs, updated bumpers, and new 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV is expected to feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system, redesigned dashboard, and improved cabin layout.

Feature upgrades could include Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and enhanced connectivity. Mechanically, it is expected to retain the existing 2.0L turbo-petrol and 2.2L diesel engines, along with manual and automatic transmission options and available 4×4 capability.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic Facelift

The facelifted Mahindra Scorpio Classic will focus on subtle design updates. Expect refreshed headlamps with LED DRLs, a new grille with chrome slats, revised bumpers, and updated alloy wheels. At the rear, changes may include new LED tail lamps and a more robust bumper.

Inside, Mahindra may introduce a more refined infotainment system and improved materials. The SUV will continue with the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine producing 130 PS and 300 Nm, paired with a manual gearbox.

Tata Avinya X

Tata Avinya X represents Tata Motors’ push into the premium EV segment. Expected around 2027, this model will be built on the new EMA platform and offered in multiple seating configurations, including 5-, 6-, and 7-seater layouts.

The Avinya X is projected to deliver a range of 500–600 km with ultra-fast charging capability. It will feature a futuristic design with T-shaped LED lighting, a minimalist luxury cabin, and advanced features like Level 2+ ADAS, panoramic sunroof, massaging seats, and large digital displays.

Tata Safari EV

The upcoming Tata Safari EV is nearing launch, likely during the upcoming festive season. It will become Tata’s first three-row electric SUV, retaining the design language of the ICE version with EV-specific tweaks like a closed grille and aerodynamic wheels.

Expected to share components with the Harrier EV, the Safari EV may offer 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery options, along with both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations.

>>> With multiple launches lined up, both Mahindra and Tata Motors are targeting the growing demand for feature-rich, spacious SUVs in India. Whether you’re looking for a rugged diesel SUV or a futuristic electric family car, the upcoming lineup covers a wide spectrum of needs.
