Volkswagen Taigun 2026 Facelift Launched in India at ₹11 Lakh

Volkswagen has launched the updated Volkswagen Taigun 2026 facelift in India, with prices starting at ₹11 lakh and going up to ₹19.3 lakh (ex-showroom).

The SUV is now available in seven variants: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus Chrome, and GT Plus Sport.

New 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox

One of the biggest highlights of the update is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. It replaces the earlier 6-speed unit and is offered exclusively with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which produces 115 bhp.

The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine (150 bhp) continues with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Assured Buyback Plan

Volkswagen is also offering an assured buyback plan. Under this scheme, customers can receive up to 75% of the car’s ex-showroom value after 3 years or 30,000 km. This offer is valid for bookings made until May 31, 2026.

2026 Taigun Features

The Taigun facelift gets several feature upgrades, including:

  • 10.25-inch digital driver display
  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless charger
  • 6-speaker sound system
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Powered seats
  • Ambient lighting

Most features are carried over from the previous model, with a few notable additions.

Updated Design

On the outside, the design has been slightly refreshed. The front styling is now inspired by the Volkswagen Tayron, featuring a slimmer grille, new headlamps, a sportier bumper, and an illuminated VW logo.

Other updates include new 17-inch alloy wheels, revised LED tail lamps with sequential indicators, a redesigned rear bumper, and rear disc brakes in higher variants.

Official Statement

According to Nitin Kohli, the Taigun remains a key pillar of Volkswagen’s India portfolio. He stated that the updated model brings sharper design and meaningful enhancements, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to delivering aspirational, well-engineered SUVs to Indian customers.
