Nissan NX8 Debuts in China with 1,450 km Range and Strong Demand
The Nissan NX8 has received over 8,000 bookings within just 30 minutes of bookings opening, highlighting strong demand in the Chinese market. With its attractive pricing, long range, fast charging capabilities, and feature-packed offering, the NX8 is shaping up to be a strong contender in China’s EV SUV segment.
Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company has introduced the NX8 SUV for the Chinese market. It is positioned between the Nissan Rogue and Nissan Pathfinder. The NX8 is the third model in Nissan’s N Series lineup, following the N6 and N7. It will be available with both fully electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain options. The combined range is claimed to be up to 1,450 km.

Nissan NX8 Dimensions and Design
The Nissan NX8 measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm. It is longer than the Rogue (also known as the X-Trail) and slightly shorter than the Pathfinder, while offering a comparable wheelbase to maximize cabin space.
The SUV follows Nissan’s latest V-Motion design language, featuring a clean, closed front fascia, full-width DRLs, and a split headlamp setup. At the rear, it gets OLED tail lamps, while flush door handles and smooth body panels enhance aerodynamics.
Inside, the cabin is focused on comfort and technology. It features dual 15.6-inch infotainment screens and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset. Higher variants may also include an augmented reality head-up display.
Premium features include “zero gravity” seats with massage, heating, and ventilation functions. The front seats can recline to create a lounge-like experience. Other highlights include a 25-speaker audio system, AI-based voice interaction across four zones, an onboard refrigerator, and a heating/cooling compartment. The BEV version also offers a front trunk (frunk) and underfloor storage.
Nissan NX8 Powertrain and Range
The BEV version is offered with single-motor setups producing 215 kW (288 hp) and 250 kW (335 hp), paired with an 81 kWh battery pack. It delivers a claimed CLTC range of up to 650 km and supports ultra-fast charging speeds of up to 463 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in around 12 minutes.
The EREV variant combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 250 kW (335 hp) electric motor. It offers a pure electric range of up to 310 km, with a total combined range of up to 1,450 km.
Deliveries of the BEV version have already begun, while deliveries of the EREV variant are expected to start soon.
Nissan NX8 Safety Features
For safety, the NX8 comes equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) developed in collaboration with Momenta. The system uses 29 sensors, including a roof-mounted LiDAR unit. Additionally, the battery monitoring system is sourced from CATL.
Price and Booking Response
The NX8 has received over 8,000 bookings within just 30 minutes, reflecting strong initial demand. It is priced between 149,900 Yuan and 209,900 Yuan (approximately ₹20.53 lakh to ₹28.70 lakh). With its competitive pricing and advanced features, the NX8 positions itself as a value-focused offering in the EV SUV segment.
