The new BMW 7 Series has been unveiled, featuring bold “hyper nostrils,” updated engines with up to 680 hp, and a massive 43-inch panoramic display replacing the traditional dashboard.
BMW claims this is the biggest update to the “7 Series” in the brand’s history.
Four years after its debut, the flagship sedan has received a major refresh. The company expects the new model to strengthen its position in the luxury sedan segment and compete with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Mercedes-Benz EQS.
The all-electric BMW i7 gets special attention in this update. It now features a larger 112.5 kWh battery (up from 105.7 kWh), increasing its range from 623 km to 727 km. Maximum charging power has been increased to 250 kW. The i7 also receives new, more efficient electric motors.

Two variants are available: the i7 xDrive50 with 455 hp and the i7 M70 xDrive with up to 680 hp. The top variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
The plug-in hybrid models have also been updated with a new inline-six petrol engine, an improved turbocharger, and an electric motor. The 750e xDrive produces 489 hp, while the M760e xDrive delivers 613 hp. The top hybrid variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
Interestingly, the battery capacity for plug-in hybrids remains unchanged at 18.7 kWh, and the electric-only range stays at around 80 km.
All 7 Series models come standard with adaptive dampers and active rear-wheel steering. The exterior has been refreshed with a redesigned front fascia, new lighting elements with crystal inserts, an updated grille, and a new front air intake.
Inside, the cabin has been significantly upgraded. For the first time, BMW offers a standard 14.6-inch display for the front passenger. The infotainment system features a 17.9-inch screen, while the traditional instrument cluster has been replaced by a massive 43.3-inch panoramic iDrive display stretching nearly the entire width of the dashboard.
Rear passengers continue to enjoy a 31.3-inch 8K display along with a 35-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Executive Lounge seats with Alcantara upholstery offer a near fully reclining experience.
Additionally, the new 7 Series offers over 700 interior trim options and more than 500 exterior paint combinations. All variants also come with soft-close doors, similar to those found in Rolls-Royce models.
